Ravintola Ylläskota

Ilmastointi ei ollut kovin hyvä, enemmän viinivaihtoehtoja. Ruoka oli hyvää ja kiitokset kokille. Tarjoilijan esittelyt esim. ruoan alkuperästä oli myös oikein hyvä.

Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Abend im Restaurant Ylläskota. Der Service war überaus freundlich, es gab Empfehlungen zu den Getränken und zum Essen. Zu Beginn wurden wir mit überaus leckerem frisch gebackenem Sauerteigbrot überrascht! Alle Speisen wurden frisch zubereitet und vom Küchenchef selbst serviert. Der Rentierburger wurde sogar auf dem Holzkohlegrill vor dem Restaurant frisch gegrillt (bei -25C), war ihm ein unvergleichliches Raucharoma verlieh. Trotzdem gab keine langen Wartezeiten. Zwischendurch wurde immer nachgefragt, ob alles schmecke und in Ordnung ist. Wir waren mit dem Abend rundum zufrieden und empfehlen das Restaurant sehr gerne weiter.

Ruoka oli ihan ok ja palvelu hyvää. Ainut oli rasvan/ruoan käry,mikä tarttui vaatteisiin. Ilmastoinnin kanssa oli ollut aikaisemminkin ongelmaa,eikä se ilmeisesti vieläkään ollut kunnossa. Vaatteet haisivat ihan hirveiltä.

Ruoka ja juoma oli ihanaa, palvelu loistavaa ja tunnelma lämmin!

Ensimmäinen kerta Suomessa, kun sain näin hyvää palvelua. Ravintolassa oli erittäin ystävällinen palvelu ja lapset otettiin huomioon hienosti. Hinta-laatusuhde oli kohdallaan ja ruoka oli hyvää. Kiitos vielä meitä palvelleelle henkilökunnalle - teitte kokemuksesta ainutlaatuisen!

We had a wonderful meal at this delightful restaurant. The food was outstanding, the environment welcoming and friendly and the people happy and charming. The wines paired to the dishes were a delightful addition that we would highly recommend. Over all a fantastic place to celebrate a special occasion or simply have a fabulous meal. Thank you.

Ruoka oli tosi hyvä mutta ilmastointi pitää saada kuntoon !

Keittiön paistokäry häiritsi aika paljon koko illan salin puolella. Valot vilkkuivat ja kattolamppu pöytämme yläpuolella sammui monta kertaa. Kynttilä pöydässämme sammui jo heti alkuunsa ja uutta tuikkukynttilää ei tuotu koko iltana.

Ruoka oli erittäin hyvää, mutta palvelu ja yleinen ilmapiiri ravintolassa oli stressaava. Kokki juoksenteli salissa ja teki tarjoilijan töitä. Työntekijä, joka toimi salin puolella ei osannut tehtäväänsä, ja hänen kommenttinsa asiakkaalle olivat sopimattomia tuon tasoiselle ravintolalle. Ainut menu, joka oli tarjolla, selvisi vasta alkujuomien jälkeen. Onneksi emme ole ruokarajoitteisia. Olemme paikallisia, ja toivomme että paikkaan saisi osaavia työntekijöitä, "vikinglinen" - kokin lisäksi. Tällä erää kokemus ei ollut hintansa arvoinen.

Our experience at Ylläskota was somewhat strange and altogether unpleasant. At our reservation I had told that one diner in our group is vegan. Nobody acknowledged this during our visit. When asked if the meal was vegan the waiter was very impolite and unwilling to answer some questions. Only one dish was vegan though the menu implied that there would be more vegan dishes than one. A dish that had vegan chèvre contained eggs. We were served Rieska bread (that was covered with abundant layer of flour) and our vegan diner did not get anything instead. We asked if the bread was vegan and the waiter rolling his eyes asked the chef and with a very impolite and weird tone replied:”It STILL has eggs in it”. I ordered chicken pasta with seasonal vegetables. The dish was very peculiar. Chicken was good and well seasoned but everything else was just random stuff put together and the consistence of the sauce was like very wet serving of smashed potatoes. Seasonal vegetables were Brussels sprouts, something very vinegary diced to cubes, chick peas and mushrooms. When we were done eating we received one check and nobody asked our group of four women if we were going to pay separate. We asked if we could pay separately and again very unwillingly the waiter returned to the cashier. Next not the waiter but the chef came to our table and kindly asked if we could just pay the one bill because it was difficult to split the check. We accepted and next the chef asked if we could come and pay to the cashier because it would be easier and now the system was messed up. One of us paid and asked the chef if the restaurant was understaffed today or something and the chef replied it was a normal evening. At the kitchen floor there was an opened bottle of sparkling wine that had spilled to the floor and a knife lying around. What an experience spiced with religious Christmas carols played from Spotify (including adds) and a Smokey odeur I can still smell from my clothes.

It was a great Christmas dinner. Especially the reindeer filet was awesome.

Nyt oli kroppa pelissä, apukokki teki oharit ja tarjoilija jäi lumipyryyn. Varausjärjestelmä sekaisin. Tupa täynnä. Yksinäinen taistelija hoiti homman tyylikkäästi. Ruoka oli erittäin hyvä.

This restaurant is really excellent !!! We ate the Christmas diner and everything was really good. Moreover, they have really good wines and Champagne Very good restaurant !

Is a little local restaurant with good food and a fine selection of wine. The owner of the restaurant is an amazing person. He’s personally explained all the dishes that he brought to the table. We had a great culinary experience.

The fresh owner was handling the restaurant alone due to his chef having given up his duties with zero notice on a christmas eve. Despite this the waiting time was tolerable and the christmas menu was great altogether. Epecially the main, the reindeer, was excellent, must be one of the best we've had.

We had the Tunturi and Ylläskota menus, both offering excellent compositions and local ingredients. The owner also recommended wines that paired perfectly with the dishes. A special mention goes to the main courses: both the sautéed reindeer and the reindeer sirloin were exceptionally well prepared and the flavour was top‑notch. Excellent service and great value for money.
